Scenes of New York at the Steven Kasher Gallery

In partnership with The New Yorker, the Steven Kasher Gallery is presenting New Yorker Fiction/Real Photography, a selection of more than 40 important photographs chosen by Elisabeth Biondi and Steven Kasher from the artwork accompanying fiction stories published in The New Yorker from 1998 to 2011. The exhibition is a tribute to The New Yorker visuals editor Elisabeth Biondi and to the exceptional photography that she brought to the The New Yorker for 15 years.

New Yorker Fiction/Real Photography features photographs by such notable figures as Adam Fuss, Tierney Gearon, Peter Hujar, Loretta Lux, Justine Kurland, Marilyn Minter, Martin Parr, Cindy Sherman, Juergen Teller, Paolo Ventura and many more.In addition, excerpts from fiction stories whose artworks are featured in the show are included in the exhibition. The roster of important authors includes: Julian Barnes, T. Coraghessan Boyle, Don DeLillo, Nadine Gordimer, Steven Millhauser, Alice Munro, Joyce Carol Oates and more.  At The Steven Kasher Gallery (521 W. 23rd st.) through July 9. The gallery is open on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
