Final Fantasy VIII was re-released on the Japanese Playstation Store as a PSOne Classic in late September. In early October, SCEE revealed that the game was also heading to the European Playstation Store although its release has since been delayed due to problems during testing.

SCEA, on the other hand, has been quite so far regarding the re-release of Final Fantasy VIII on the North American Playstation Store. In the recent email newsletter, they finally revealed that the game will indeed be released on their digital store for the PSP and Playstation 3. Final Fantasy VIII appears under the “Coming Soon” section of the newsletter, right below District 9 (Video Store) and BUZZ! Quiz World.
