Miami Valley , Whitewater Valley, and the I-71 corridor of Ohio/Indiana:
Flood Watch through Sunday morning...
Scattered rain showers will become heavier by dawn. A cold front will approach from the West late tomorrow allowing rain to break out ahead of it. Rain will become steadiest and heaviest tomorrow afternoon and night. Rainfall on the order of 1 to 3 inches will fall along the I-71 corridor. Higher amounts of 4 inches and locally higher will be common NW of the I-71 corridor. Any breaks in the overcast tomorrow could result in areas along the I-71 corridor standing a chance to see strong to severe thunderstorms tomorrow evening and night along the cold front. These storms will enhance rainfall amounts as well as bring damaging winds. Winds could gusts to 45 mph along the front and be slightly enhanced in any thunderstorms that develop. There is a very strong jet stream over head with winds gusting to 140 mph aloft. This means thunderstorms will not need much to tap into to become strong. Stay tuned for further details.
Some areas may experience very strong winds mainly on Saturday night and Sunday with the passage of this very strong cold front. Stay tuned for further details.
