Since Halloween is quickly approaching, it is the perfect time for scary movies. The most beloved event on television is the AMC Fear Fest. Yours truly loves to watch the line up of horror films throughout the month, which includes a Friday the 13th movie marathon and many more. Aside from the familiar beloved films, there are other films that are not played as much, such as the film, Witchboard.
Although it is a low budget film of about 2,000,000, it earned over 7,000,000 in the box office. The film stars Tawny Kitaen (best known as a video vixen) and Stephen Nichols (cutie from Days of Our Lives). The story surrounds the use of a Ouija board, which is brought to a party at Linda's (Kitaen's) house. The owner of the board is her ex boyfriend, Brandon (Nichols), who still carries a torch for her. Unfortunately, she is involved with his ex best friend, whom she did not meet until after she separated from Brandon, but of course it causes some friction.
However, the old friends must come together to save Linda from the evil entity that is controlling the board. Brandon proclaims that when a person uses the board alone, they become very susceptible to the spirit in the board. In the beginning it will be helpful and friendly, so that the person is lured into using the board all the time. Eventually, the spirit will change and terrorize her, so that she becomes weak. Then, the spirit is able to possess the host. Can they help her before it is too late?
Of course, this is another film that was released on DVD, but it is now out of print, so it can be costly to buy. It is a great storyline and a scary movie. The cast complements each other, so it defiantly worth watching.
