Now that Magic: The Gathering's Scars of Mirrodin has had some time to settle down after the initial salvo of insane planeswalker prices, we can comfortably analyze which cards are - and will continue to be - worth money.
When you're cracking those packs at Friday Night Magic or your 4-3-2-2 que on Magic: The Gathering Online, you won't want to let the cash cards pass by (but if you're playing in something bigger, you might have to).
All secondary market values in this article are based on StarCityGames.com prices as of 11/12/10.
Koth of the Hammer is likely to live up to his potential for quite some time in all manner of new age big red decks, and leads the pack at a sturdy $39.99.
Espeth Tirel comes in at a solid $19.99, and will have plenty of opportunities to make a name for herself once again. Don't underestimate her new form, she's still quite a force to be reckoned with and is being experimented with in several deck templates.
Mox Opal commands a solid $19.99 price tag, and holds true that if it's a Mox, it's probably worth some money, as any iteration of the old jewels of yesteryear is sure to raise some eyebrows (and some colorless mana).
Molten-Tail Masticore is a brilliant dodge of the reprint list and an incredibly dangerous creature who lives up to the reputation of Magic: The Gathering Masticores. Masticore money, $19.99.
Venser, the Sojourner is just waiting to go off the rails when an exploitable blink card gets printed in Mirrodin Besieged or "Action", and holds a $19.99 price tag.
Wurmcoil Engine is destined to perform Baneslayer Angel's future duties in artifact, removal-ready form. No easy Doom Blade solution here, and absolutely worth the $14.99.
Skithiryx, The Blight Dragon clocks in at $11.99, and honestly we can't wait to see the rest of the infectious interactions that this ichor-drooling dragon is going to have when the rest of Scars of Mirrodin block is live.
Sword of Body and Mind hails back to the old sword cycle and getting two protections, +2/+2, and two effects is a pretty solid deal for this reasonably priced equipment. Sword of Body and Mind is currently fetching $7.99.
And that does it for the mythics - If you're looking for some rare slot money, you've got the functionally fantastic Ratchet Bomb at $5.99, the infectious lord Hand of the Praetors at $4.99, and the Play-Dough-esque creature machine Mimic Vat at $5.99
