In the movie Minority Report, murder cases were reffered to as red balls. Could this week's nude photo scandal be called a scarlet ball? Huffingtonpost.com Celebrity today is reporting that the FBI is investigating how hackers obtained alleged nude photos of celebrities like Scarlett Johansson and Vanessa Hudgens. This week, Scarlett's red hot pics hit the web in a big way.
With a quick google, readers can find them at the celebrity dirty laundry site. This column will NOT provide a link. It cannot be confirmed whether the photos are actually Scarlett. Whoever she is, she is not wearing the Black Widow outfit from the Avengers film, but is wearing considerably less. The model certainly is not wearing a Puritan outfit with an ummm...scarlet letter on it.
I will let the readers decide whether the scarlet letter grade would be an A or just a B plus.
The hackings first hit the news in March. TMZ.com speculated back then they could involve as many as fifty actresses. Vanessa made a case report and the FBI soon got the ball rolling. It is still unknown how the hackers got access to the actresses's email accounts. They certainly did it without permission.
Regardless of whether the Scarlett photos are real, Huffingtonpost.com celebrity is reporting that Scarlett is dealing driectly with the FBI. Several crimes could be charged, both Federal and State. Scarlett also has a lawsuit for invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. She has a suit against the hackers, and also against any site that publishes them. Her lawyers are probably writing cease and desist letters even as we speak.
Hopefully the FBI will act as the real Avengers in this case.
