‘Scarface’ actor Ángel Salazar to star in new film, ‘Cuban Sandwich’

Ángel Salazar, who famously played Tony Montana’s friend ‘Chi Chi’ in the movie Scarface,” will soon star in a new gangster comedy film called Cuban Sandwich.” The actor and comedian-- who also appeared in "Carlito's Way," "Punchline," "Hot to Trot," and many other movies-- co-wrote the film with Julian Saul, and plays a gangster named ‘Chico Mundo.’ While he gives nothing away, Salazar does liken “Cuban Sandwich” to the 1959 comedy classic “Some Like It Hot,” starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon. Actors Miriam Colón, Cesar Cordova, Andrew Kelly, Ana Roman, Raffaele Santorelli, and others have signed onto the project, which is currently in pre-production. There will be a stage reading of "Cuban Sandwich" at The Comic Strip (1568 2nd Ave.) in the coming weeks.
