Scappose Public Library hosts events for youths, families in January

During the month of January, the Scappoose Public Library hosts a variety of events for youths and families, designed to foster a love of reading. The Scappoose Public Library is located at 52469 SE Second Street in Scappoose.

Jan. 18 11 a.m.: Family StoryTime for All Ages. Wear your favorite pajamas and enjoy a great story.
Jan. 20: 12 p.m.: Teen Movie Party (Sixth through 12th grades). The theme is the 50s. Come in your favorite 50s style outfit and enjoy a movie and great company, along with free refreshments.
Jan. 22: 10:30 a.m. StoryTime for Infants and Toddlers (age 0 to 5). Theme and Craft: Numbers.
Jan. 23: 4 p.m.: Kids Hour at the Library (Kindergarten through Sixth Grades). Theme: What Can You Make From Recycled Materials? Participants will build houses and castles out of cardboard and other recycled items. Registration is not required.
Jan. 29: 10:30 a.m. StoryTime for Infants and Toddlers Theme and Craft: Chinese New Year of the Horse.

The Scappoose Public Library is open Monday through Saturday. Hours vary. Monday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
