During the week of Aug. 25- Aug. 29, the Scappoose Fire District responded to a variety of calls for assistance. These included the calls outlined below as well as two medical transports to hospitals and five non-transport calls for medical assessment.
Aug. 26— Arnold Street, St. Helens: Crews were called to a mutual aid with Columbia River Fire and Rescue for a commercial fire alarm, but were cancelled prior to arrival.
Aug. 26— Highway 30 and Commercial Ave: Two patients were transported from a two vehicle crash; Columbia River Fire and Rescue assisted with a medic and crew.
Aug. 26— Lemont and N. 5th Streets: One engine and one support vehicle with eight personnel responded to a brush fire that was a mutual aid call with Columbia River Fire and Rescue.
Aug. 26— Walker Road: Personnel assisted a resident.
Aug. 27— Beaver Bark, on West Lane Road: Crews responded to a fully-involved bulldozer/excavator fire. The fire was extinguished.
Aug. 27— Scappoose Vernonia Highway and Bonnie Falls: Crews were called to investigate and recalled from a reported motor vehicle crash that was just a parked car.
Aug. 27— Victorian Senior Apartments, Columbia Avenue: Personnel responded to a commercial fire alarm that was a false alarm. It was burned food.
Aug. 27— E. Columbia Avenue: Law enforcement requested EMS service, but response was cancelled while crews were en route.
Aug. 27— Bellcrest Road: Law enforcement requested that crews assist in the search for a person.
