Kerry Washington is pregnant and no it’s not with Mr. President on her oh-so scandalous television show.
This will be Washington’s first child, which was reported four months after she secretly married San Francisco 49ers handsome cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. A source claims, “Kerry and Nnamdi are ecstatic.”
E! News was first to report that Washington, 36, and Asomugha, 32, said ‘I Do’ in Blaine County, Idaho, on June 24. The Emmy-nominated actress has had a difficult time keeping her lips sealed from spilling details. “I hate keeping secrets; that is the worst thing for me, because I always want to talk about it,” she revealed on October 2. The actress continues stating, “I am really private about my personal life.”
In the September issue of Glamour, Washington explained her reasoning behind staying private and quiet about her personal life. “I’ve had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it, but I couldn’t just turn around and say, ‘I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.’ So I just thought, ‘okay, no more.’”
Washington describes how she's been keeping her privacy: “I’m walking around the world with my ring. And when people say congratulations, I say thank you. But I’m going to continue to not talk about it and just let it unfold.”
Although she keeps her private life private, Washington lets it all out on the screen. During her Paley Center for Media Q&A in New York City, she distinguished the difference between the public nature of being an actress and the private facet of her personal life. "I try to be really naked emotionally in my work, and I am not holding back at all when it comes to my work," she said. "I am giving all that I can in my work....So my work belongs to everyone—because that's the choice I made—and my life belongs to me." Well said, girlfriend!
The actress is reportedly four months pregnant and four months married. People Magazine reports the star is due in the spring.
Don’t miss Kerry Washington as she hosts “Saturday Night Live” on November 2. Eminem will be the musical guest.
