"Scandal" season 3 has been cut to a shorter season. On Dec. 6, TV Line reported that they are going to actually take away 4 episodes from the upcoming season. They will now be airing 18 episodes this season instead of 22.

Some fans might worry that this has to do with the fact that the show isn't go well, but that is not the case at all. "Scandal" is doing amazing, but Kerry Washington is pregnant. They do not seem to want to write this pregnancy into the show and Olivia being pregnant would be a huge change for the show. Doing episodes without her is just not an option.

Since hiding the baby bump will be hard, they are now cutting down season 3 to only 18 episodes instead of 22. After the mid-season finale next week, they will have already done 10 episodes this season. The show will return on Feb. 27 for the final eight episodes of the season.
