Nashville are you ready for SOME LIVE SCANDAL ENTERTAINMENT?
Well I just received word that a certain favorite cast member Columbus Short aka Harrison Wright on “Scandal” is set to make an appearance with host Judy Smith, founder and President of Smith & Company on February 6, 2014 at 7:00pm at Vanderbilt University’s Langford Auditorium. The topic of discussion will be titled, “Live Your Life Scandal-less: Being Honest and Making the Best Life Decisions.
Tickets are on sale now for $10 for Vanderbilt students, $15 for Vanderbilt faculty/staff and $20 to the general public.
Judy A. Smith is the founder and President of Smith & Company, a leading strategic and crisis communications firm with offices in Washington D.C. and Los Angeles. Over the last 25 years, Ms. Smith has brought her unique combination of communication skills, media savvy, legal and political acumen to clients facing a wide array of issues and challenges throughout the United States and abroad.
As a result of her wide ranging and ground breaking career, Shonda Rhimes, creator of ABC’s hit television dramas Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, developed a television drama about the world of crisis management inspired by Ms. Smith. The series entitled, Scandal, revolves around the life and work of a professional fixer. Ms. Smith serves as Co- Executive Producer of the project and provides insight and technical expertise on crisis management issues.
Columbus Short has successfully crossed over from stage performer, to professional dancer, musician and actor. Short currently plays Harrison Wright on ABC’s award-winning drama Scandal. The Kansas City native began entertaining his family by putting on shows at age three. Upon relocation to Southern California he was cast in commericals by the time he went to Orange County School of Arts.
Short went on to choreograph Britney Spears’s “In the Zone” tour, launching his entertainment career. In 2007 he had an arc on Aaron Sorkin’s critically praised showbiz drama, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. His film roles include Save the Last Dance: 2, Accepted, and Stomp the Yard. In Cadillac Records he starred opposite Beyonce Knowles and Adrien Brody proving not only could he act, but he could also sing. He received the NAACP Image Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for the role. He went on to work with Grammy Award-winning producers the Avila Brothers on his first album, Act One: Dimes and Dolls. In addition to his vocal skills, Short plays the bass, piano and drums.
Short also has a passion for writing and producing television and film, having executive-produced Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming and Strange Fruit through his production company, Great Picture Show Productions.
