On Wednesday, March 26 Deadline broke the news that "Scandal" actor Columbus Short was arrested and charged with one count of felony battery with serious bodily harm, which is allegedly from a fight the actor was involved in at a bar in Los Angeles last week. A warrant was issued for Short's arrest earlier today by the Claremont Police Department after formal charges were filed yesterday.
The alleged altercation happened at a restaurant in West Los Angeles on March 15. The two men got involved in a fight after the other man insulted Short's wife. The victim was knocked out on the scene and required medical attention. After Short's arrest, the actor posted bail for fifty thousand dollars and was released, but will be arraigned on the charges within the next month.
Short currently stars as lawyer Harrison Wright on the ABC drama "Scandal," and has been a series regular since the pilot episode. Filming for the current season is wrapping up this week, but Short's arrest could affect future seasons. Short faces a maximum of four years in prison, and is also currently facing a misdemeanor battery charge for hitting his wife last month.
