On this week's episode of "Scandal" on ABC, Verna's part in the plot to assassinate the president was revealed, and she decided to come clean about it to Fitz. She also came clean about the election rigging, and he now knows that everyone around him had been lying to him. This includes Olivia. Before he found out, he had asked her to wait for him, but after he found out he told her he didn't want her to wait. He went back to his wife. David's plan for taking down the election rigging was also ruined by James lying to protect Cyrus.
Shonda Rhimes spoke about what happens next on this series in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Previously released spoilers already revealed that a time jump of ten months will happen before the next episode. Rhimes said the following:
"Emotionally, we pick up where we left off. We jump back in the middle of a world to discover that things are different and how things are different. As you go on, you discover what's happened to David since they left him and where Fitz and Mellie (Bellamy Young) really are emotionally -- the baby is now 10 months old -- and what that Fitz and Mellie relationship looks like now. What Olivia is feeling and doing and how she's coping, and you see that as well."
Olivia will have to pick up the pieces of her life. Scott Foley will also make his first appearance on the series on the next episode. As for Fitz and Olivia, their relationship is still a part of the series, and it will never be over, according to Rhimes.
Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
Next week on #Scandal, the role of David Rosen will be played by a punching bag.
"Scandal" will continue to air on Channel 15 in Tempe on Thursday nights.
