A 20-year-old has been charged with assault and battery over mac and cheese, Fox Carolina reported December 2.
Alex Rossi lives on Hammett Store Road in Lyman with his father. Spartanburg County deputies were called to the home Sunday evening after a call came in from the father alleging he was attacked by Alex when the two got into a heated dispute over cheese packets missing from the mac and cheese box.
Alex lives with his father, but is said not to contribute to household expenses. The father was upset when he decided to prepare one of the boxes, and accused his son of using all of the cheese packets. This led to the son following his dad back into the home, where the son began beating his father in the head.
When police arrived they found Alex with bloody hands and his dad with a bruise and cut on his face. Alex tried to convince officers he had a "shiner," but the deputies didn't see any visible injuries.
The father was able to end the fight after putting his son in a headlock when the two ended up on the ground.
Alex Rossi was arrested and charged with third degree assault and battery at the request from his father.
