SC dog dragged behind truck was also tortured; $1K reward for solid info

New information has come in on Andra Grace, the pit bull who was saved by SNARR Northeast after being dragged behind a pickup truck. A Facebook post December 2 states

"Upon closer examination of Andra's feet, it has been discovered that this case goes a lot further than her being dragged. Her toe nails were ripped out deliberately and they are not missing due to the dragging incident."

There's a $1,000 reward offered by SNARR Northeast for solid information leading to an arrest of the person who did this to Andra. Her story was covered over the weekend with this Examiner article.

Andra has had a busy day after being moved from the emergency care facility to a specialty center for further treatment. Her white blood cell count, which was low, is a little better today. Her vets did decide to go ahead with a blood transfusion, which should help her heal faster.

Although there's a chance her poor abused body would have reacted badly to the transfusion, the benefits outweighed the risks. Unfortunately, new information has surfaced on the monsters who did this to her.

It was today while Andra was under anesthesia to clean her wounds and close up any that would benefit being closed (some wounds need to remain open to heal) that signs of abuse were discovered.

Andra's nails were pulled out of their nail beds. The edges are just too smooth and rounded instead of being ulcerated as they would be had the injuries to her paws would have been if this had resulted from her being dragged.

This means that not only did Andra's owner drag her behind a pickup, she was slowly tortured as well. She has also been starved, as well as tortured.

The vet's treating this severely abused girl are very confident they can save her life. It will take time, and Andra will have to remain in a sterile environment. She'll also have to have up-to-date blood work to make sure her levels remain stable. At this time her levels overall are good, considering what she's been through.

Andra's vets have stated what a sweet girl this dog is, despite the torture and cruelty inflicted on her by someone who was supposed to love her. A donation page can be found at YouCaring. For updates, please check back her Facebook page, where more than 13,900 people are now following her.

More information has also been made available since the Sunday. The abuse took place at the intersection of Hart Cut Road and Wildwood in Marietta. An older model white Ford pick up truck was reported with no plates was seen in the area. Based on the trail of blood on the road, Andra was dragged between a mile and a mile and a half.

This most likely means Andra lived in that area. The police, as well as SNARR, feel this was done by someone who lives in that area and knows it well.

Someone out there knows something. Andra's tormentor has likely bragged to someone about what he did to his dog. Take a good look at Andra. Have you seen her in your neighborhood? Did she live on an outside chain where someone saw her on a daily basis? Did you visit a friend and see her at that person's home.

The information is worth $1,000. Please share this article, and let's get this monster behind bars.
