SBA taking business owners to another level with technology

Have you heard about the roll out of the latest Small Business Administration (SBA) Program? It is the RFP EZ Project a pilot program initiated by the Presidential Innovation Fellows (PIF). The PIF was challenged by the Obama Administration to create a streamlined process for business suppliers to provide services to governmental buyers and for the government buyers to buy from the suppliers.

The RFP EZ Project Program was born. The program is in its infancy and its focus is only on IT services currently but if the program goes well other product and services could come online as well. SBA is continuing to lead the charge in providing opportunities for disadvantaged and underrepresented businesses.

This program could help to set the stage for improving the process for governmental buyers to work more efficiently and effectively with business suppliers. This process could help in reducing time, costs, paperwork and taxpayer dollars. The program is not perfect by far but it is a step towards efficiency and advancement.

There are still a lot of snags in the system. It may not improve the payment process which is a snag for business suppliers, especially underrepresented business owners, but it is off to a great start. If you provide IT services try it you may like it.
