Services for San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy Jeremiah McKay will be webcast live tomorrow morning. The services will begin at 11 a.m. at the San Manuel Amphitheater, located at 2575 Glen Helen Parkway in San Bernardino.
MacKay and his partner were ambushed February 12 while pursuing former Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner near Big Bear. MacKay, a 15-year veteran of the department, has worked in both Twin Peaks and Big Bear before being assigned to the Yucaipa Sheriff’s Station.
He is survived by his wife Lynette Quinta, a 7-year-old daughter and 4-month-old son, and his parents Alan and Dawn MacKay from Parker, Colorado.
Jeremiah MacKay, a graduate of Rim High School, was also department Honor Guard. Locally, he was known for playing the bagpipes at recent Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day ceremonies in the mountain communities.
Rim of the World News reports that the live webcast will be available at the MACKAY FUNERAL web site.
