I have been an Examiner for just over two years, but that will end at the end of this month. The over simplified explanation for why I'm leaving is that I don't have the time to put into this column. Back when I started, it was my hope that having a column would force me to write content for it. That's a great idea, but it turns out that the stuff I want to write - and am good at writing - is not the type of content Examiner prefers. So I ended up mainly writing about writing group meetings and book signings, which is good information, but to me just seemed like a bunch of busy work. This ties in with me not having time because in the last year or so, my writing has picked up. I've had to choose between spending my writing time working on my novellas and anthologies, or writing about other author's book signings. Since I've already told you I'm leaving Examiner.com at the end of the month, you can probably figure out what I've chosen. :D
Best of luck with your writing.
