Gold and purple moonlit sky
Studded with stars like diamonds bright
Magic carpet of clouds be my ride
To the clustering gems of paradise!

The night sky on a moonlit night can indeed melt away the stress and cares of life! And if we are lucky, the fireflies can add to the glow of radiance as they soar up high, almost to touch the moon. What a gift, what a blessing for a while to watch and be swept off to another world!
That's the feeling shared by dancers as they melt across the floors of grand ballrooms all across the globe. For a brief two minutes or three, the world stops and magic takes over. Dance becomes an out of body experience on the competition floor.
Why do so many dancers spend endless amount of money competing? Because it is a means of self-expression, self-fulfillment, and quite bluntly, from their perspective, the only way to live in this perplexing world. For those who watch dancers, it is a spectacular display of dazzling colors, shimmering floats, and twinkling stones floating across the floor, engulfed by music. For the dancer, it is even more - a passionate and almost celestial experience of wondrous exaltation.
So there you have it. Things look different to each of us depending on where we stand and how we see life. Passion comes in many forms. For the ardent dancer, it is the only way to live - to dive intensely into the music, to fathom one's true essence, to celebrate one's being, to carve out the force of feeling, to delve into the depths of one's soul; in short, live powerfully for the moment.
Life on this earth is after all, a fleeting moment in the cosmic scheme of things. The only choice that matters in this context is how fulfilling it can be or how we can let it slip by. How many tomorrows will there be? Who knows? Today and now is alive and well and we can make it matter.
