Saving Abel’s frontman, Jared Weeks has been filling in for Austin Winkler while he’s on temporary leave from Oklahoma-based rockers, Hinder. It’s nice to see brother bands helping each other in times of need, especially while promoting their new album, Welcome to the Freakshow. It brings the term “friends helping friends” to a new level. Weeks is a true professional on stage and a natural fit for the band. It’s not easy stepping in and fronting another band, but he brings in a lot of energy and makes it look effortless.
Some of the highlights of Tuesday night’s show in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. was watching Hinder perform Saving Abel’s raunchy single, “Addicted”, always a fan-favorite. During “Lips of an Angel”, the near capacity crowd was so into it, it appeared to be a duet between Weeks and the crowd. Speaking of touching, the acoustic version of “Better Than Me” really hit home with everybody in attendance. Ending on a high note, so to speak, was another favorite “Get Stoned”. The crowd simply went ballistic to say the least. A great time was had by all and fans surely got their money’s worth.
