When Lionsgate Home Entertainment opens the door and the news pours out about upcoming new DVDs, we need to make space and spill the beans so you can save the dates.
A small sampling:
From the makers of Emmy-winning The Men Who Built America and narrated by two-time Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner HISTORY’s The World Wars, arrives on Blu-ray (plus Digital HD) and DVD (plus Digital) on September 9. Originally premiering Memorial Day on HISTORY, 13 million viewers tuned in to all or part of the three night event series, which averaged 4.3 million total viewers and 1.7 million in both adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 in Live + 7 viewership. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of WWI and 75th anniversary of WWII, the epic series traverses three decades of war through the eyes of the men who were on the front lines including insightful interviews with historians and modern-day politicians as well as dramatic reenactments.

See how, from Ypres and the Somme to the Battle of the Bulge and the invasion of Normandy, the iconic figures of WWII became synonymous with either battlefield glory or murderous fascism.
The two-disc Blu-ray and DVD sets contain bonus materials that include in-depth looks at the men who shaped history, numerous featurettes that delve further into the history and legacy of the wars plus deleted scenes.

Lock your doors and set your alarms as the new action-packed heist film Armed Response arrives on DVD (plus Digital), Digital HD and Video on Demand on September 16. The ensemble cast stars Ethan Embry and Cary Elwes as two owners of a failing home security business who break the law to change their luck. Also starring Michael Gladis, Clea Duvall, Golden Globe nominee Ed Begley Jr. with Golden Globe winner Ving Rhames and Vinnie Jones. Armed Response includes an audio commentary and a gag reel.
When a home security business falls on hard times, the owners decide to start robbing local homes in a desperate attempt to create the need for their services. The plan seems to work perfectly until, in an attempt to one-up the competition, they finish a job with more in their haul than they bargained for.

Based on the critically-acclaimed London and Off-Broadway play, Burning Blue arrives on DVD (plus Digital) and Digital HD on September 9. In this gripping and emotional romance set in the era of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” two male Navy pilots begin a forbidden love affair that will forever change their lives and the lives of their families. Inspired by co-writer/director DMW Greer’s experiences as a Naval aviator in the early ‘80s, the DVD includes an audio commentary, deleted scenes and a “making of” featurette.

A weekend trip to the woods for a bachelorette party turns deadly when a nearby train accident causes a chemical reaction to overtake the secluded valley. But waiting out the disaster inside could prove to be just as dangerous as the outdoors.
