Imagine sustaining life-changing injuries at war, undergoing multiple surgeries, and having to spend years recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC).
While some wounded warriors are able to leave the Center for excursions, such as catching a concert at the Verizon Center or a play at the Kennedy Center, many are unable to leave their hospital rooms. Musicians On Call, a national non-profit organization, is planning to bring music, both live and recorded, to the bedside of those patients.
Musicians On Call recently opened a branch office in the District and have already brought country artist Mark Wills and R&B artist Melanie Fiona to Walter Reed to play for our nation’s wounded warriors.
Musicians On Call will hold a live concert event at the Hard Rock Cafe on Wednesday, February 22nd from 7 – 11 pm featuring performances by local musicians from AFTRA (the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists). There is a suggested $10 donation at the door. Read more>>
