The Greater Boston Sjögren’s Syndrome Support Group is having their next meeting on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m.
The location is Tufts Medical Center, Sackler Building, Room 114, 145 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA.
You don't want to miss the speaker. Dr. Athena S. Papas, DMD, PhD will be talking about "Living With the Oral Complications of Sjögren’s Syndrome."
Dr. Athena Papas, DMD, PhD is the Johansen Professor of Research and Dental Medicine and the Head, Division of Public Health Research and Oral Medicine at the Tufts University School of. Dental Medicine. A leading researcher and prominent clinician specializing in Sjögren’s Syndrome, Dr. Papas has one of the largest groups of patients with Sjögren’s Syndrome in the country, indeed in the world.
Many of this support group's members were first diagnosed with Sjögren’s Syndrome by Dr. Papas and have been followed for their oral care in her clinic. She gave the first program for the group when Dr. Epstein assumed leadership back in 2007 and has been always been supportive. It has been several years since Dr. Papas has spoken to the group and it is will be wonderful to have her back.
Dr. Papas’ talk will address the many oral concerns for Sjögren’s Syndrome patients and strategies to minimize oral complications and to maximize overall comfort and well-being
