Fans launch "Save the Bonnie Hunt Show" campaign (AP/Warner Bros. Jesse Grant)
When the news broke on PerezHilton.com that the Bonnie Hunt Show would end after its second season, Bonnie Hunt Show fans began to revolt.
Asking what could be done to save the show, Bonnie Hunt wrote, "...Yes, you can be effective by sending your thoughtful comments regarding our show to the General Manager for your local station.”
What are fans doing to "Save the Bonnie Hunt Show"?
- First and foremost, fans are visiting the Bonnie Hunt Show "When It's On" page here to figure out what local station airs the Bonnie Hunt Show in their area, and using the link provided (if one is provided) to contact their local station managers and begging to keep the show on. (For example, this reporter's area is Cleveland-Akron, Ohio, with WJW running the show on Fox8.com. who has a "Find Us" link at the bottom of their page, and allows viewers to submit multiple contact forms with "Sound Off" as a subject -- the perfect venue to submit "Please save the Bonnie Hunt Show requests...") The Bonnie Hunt Show "fetches a license fee from local stations that air it, supplying Warners with a guaranteed revenue stream for the show. But most local station groups have made it clear that, at least for next season, they're only interested in new shows with so-called "barter" deals, where stations pay no money upfront but agree to split ad revenues with the syndicator," writes Josef Adalian.
But Bonnie Hunt Show fans are hoping that if enough feedback and pressure and requests flood into their local station managers to keep the show on and reconsider, like fans of the NBC show Chuck were able to do, buying that show another season.
Perhaps if the "Save the Bonnie Hunt Show" grows as much, more seasons of the Bonnie Hunt Show will appear.
(FYI - Some have reported that the iPetitions "Save the Bonnie Hunt" show petition going on is a scam -- they do in fact ask for a "donation" to their site.)

I signed the petition but ignored the donation part and my name still appeared. The Bonnie Hunt show is worth saving she has the best talk show on tv. She is as real as they get. Nothing Phony about her.
They've got to be kidding??? They think they can replace Bonnie Hunt with that TRASH Kate Gosslin?? I guess that will give me another hour in the day to do something cause IF YOU PAID ME $1000/day, I WOULDN'T WATCH ANYTHING WITH THAT BI*** of a mother Kate. I don't blame Jon for leaving her...the only thing I wonder is HOW he stayed with her longer than 6 months and actually had 1 kid with her. I guess there are some people that will put up with anything until they can't take it anymore and just break out of prison.

Finally, a quality show on in the morning and the network wants to yank it. Why do they think we want to watch trashy daytime TV????
I also agree that the Bonnie Hunt Show is the BEST talk show to ever come along. She is very real, honest, FUNNY, down to earth, a breath of fresh air... I could go on and on. I love her, her mom and her staff...they all compliment each other and that makes for a dynamic team and great TV. I have emailed my local station, left a comment on the WB site & and on Bonnie's site as well. We need to all pull together to keep this show on the air. We love you Bonnie!
I am shocked. Bonnie Hunt is amazing...such a breath of fresh air...she is delightful to watch every day. When I contacted my station they said they wanted it on the air also...they said that she draws good ratings in our area!!
They (the networks/local stations) put her show opposite Oprah who I stopped watching once Bonnie was on. What did they expect? Oprah's been on forever. Bonnie is a breath of fresh air.
Please just move the show to Chicago.....Bonnie is the best that happened to daytime TV! I record it everyday. What a refreshing

The Bonnie Hunt Show is simply the best. She's real and funny and one of the few decent talk show hosts for a very long time. Can we just for once keep something funny and fresh on the tube???
just found out that Bonnie's show is in danger of being canceled. I can't begin to say how upset I am. I simply, love her show and watch everyday. She is
not only hilarious, she is so genuine, and kind. She warms my heart and makes me laugh everyday. In this crazy world we need someone with her talent to make us forget about the struggles we face on a daily basis. I have never felt so strongly about a show being canceled. It would be a complete heart breaker to not be able to watch Bonnie and the rest of her talented co-worker/friends. Please keep Bonnie on the air.!!!!

If they cancel Bonnie's show,I will boycot all Telepictures shows.Any company that would replace a talented,class act like Bonnie with that Kate woman (who's only talent is verbally abusing her husband)does not deserve our support!
This is one of the few daytime shows I watch. It is very entertaining, informative, and is one of the two shows on television that promote animal welfare. Bonnie is warm, engaging, and displays a humanitarian side that is all to lacking in television. Not to mention, it always ends with a feel good moment!!!!! She gives back to society on a daily basis which is unheard of in today's never ending doom and gloom and sensationalized reporting. Why don't you try moving her to 9:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. E.S.T. instead of canceling the show???? I'm sick of all the reality and gossip shows -- what do they give back to society??? This is just another example of Studio Execs not being in touch with audiences. Shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bonnie is the best girlfriend anyone could have!!!!!! And there's no one more real on tv. I will not watch any court shows, and I will not watch Kate. Bonnie is warm and Kate is cold. Bonnie should ask for help onscreen.

Great! All we need is another reality star to take over. When does it end? Bonnie is a beautiful, intelligent, talented women and a real joy to watch. She is a great advocate for animals who so desperately need a voice. I also want to give props to her Staff. They are a great group of genuine people.

The petition site asks for a donation, but is not required. Please sign, everyone needs to show a strong position to try and save the Bonnie Hunt Show. In this day and age of negative, trash TV, it has been so refreshing to have a show with true family values, that is a great example of humor, compassion, and positive behaviors - including showcasing talented children, supporting cancer causes, supporting animals, and on a daily basis providing a safe and happy place to be for an hour. There needs to be a way to have a fun, light hearted, insightful, and creative show with family values to exist. Her show has so much to offer, and we all deserve to have her show stay on the air!

Everytime I'm in a doctor's or clinic's office around the time the show is on it's there on their TV. I record the show everyday so my husband and I can watch it together. Don makes him laugh as much as Bonnie does. Don't kill something good that makes so (sick & well) many people happy.

This show provides valuable role-models for both young and old, whence our commitment to putting our "money" where our mouths are, instead of relying on emotional appeals alone to convince the powers that be of our resolve. Because networks, etc. listen to $$$ only, we encourage others to help reinstate Bonnie Hunt's magnificent program by sharing a resolve, similar to ours below, with all petition-related sites.
Our resolution is as follows: Unless and until the Bonnie Hunt Show is reinstated, we will no longer watch ANY shows affiliated with Warner Bros. Once the show disappears from the air, moreover, we will be canceling our subscription to all networks that aired her show; or, if network-specific cancellation is impossible, we will block our family's access to said networks.
I can't believe that a "quality" show has to go through this. It can be watched by every member of the family and beyond that it is just plain entertaining and funny. Why would they yank this show and the quality it brings to daytime. Did I hear a that one of the Kate Gosselin shows might take over, oh please don't do that to us... let us continue with a good,decent and funny show. Bonnie Hunt is the real deal in a world of trouble she is a constant.
The Bonnie Hunt Show is wonderful. She's funny, the cast is funny, and her Mom is funny. This is a real talkshow. Don't cancel it, i will be so disappointed.
Bonnie Hunt is one of the best shows on tv today. She is not political not excessevily opinonated and the women has some of the most family and moral values around and the to be replaced by some moron mother that only cares about a buck and her mug on TV. I too, am amazed the network would remove a wholesome daytime show. Thank goodness for DVD's to watch. There's nothing else in daytime TV.
