Last week I reported that some select Legend of the Seeker fans had started a campaign to raise money to take out a trade publication ad calling for reconsideration of their beloved show's canceling (which has technically not yet been confirmed by ABC Studios). Today said ad has been featured in Variety Magazine.
On newsstands all across Los Angeles now, the full page ad says "WANTED: A new home for season three of Legend of the Seeker" and features silhouettes of the main characters with directions on how one can obtain distribution of the cult favorite sci-fi show, if so desired. A full page ad in such a publication generally runs around six thousand dollars, so this is no small feat for a group that rallied within one business week!
The group also has plans to run a similar ad in the Hollywood Reporter next week to keep their message alive.
In the meantime, though, fans also are continuing to work around the clock sending postcards and letters to ABC, contacting the media, and encouraging everybody to purchase the series on both iTunes and DVD format. They are determined to get #SaveourSeeker trending on Twitter, as well.

Legend of the Seeker is a great show and should be renewed for another season
Thank you so much for this great article!
Thanks so much for the support! It really means alot to the fandom!
Thanks for the press... We are all routing for the return of Legend and hoping for more than just a 3rd season... Honestly with the smallest effort at marketing and a reasonable time slot it could really be a money maker for disney/abc
Go Legend of the Seeker!
go go Seeker fans! do not stop!
Thanks so much for the article, poor "Seeker' was never promoted and aired in the 'death zone' time slots when it wasn't moved by Tribune for some sports broadcast. This show could be a big winner for whoever is clever enough to promote it and give it a decent time slot. The fact that we raised over $9000 in less than a week should tell somebody that its been mis-judged by the TV industry. "Seeker' gets 1 million MORE viewers then "Smalleville" per episode, and that shows been on for 9 seasons.
My whole family can't wait for it to air, how many shows appeal to the family today? Not as many as there should be, Thanks again for the press.
Thanks for the article! Saveourseeker fans!
Fans are working on much, much more than that. We're covering all the fan initiatives (over 20 so far) at savetheseeker.wordpress.com and trust me, the magazine ads are just the tip of the ice berg.
