Save nearly $1000 on Sony A99 bundle

When Sony announced its A99 full-frame dSLR last fall, many people were very, very happy as it had been 4 years since Sony launched its A900 full-framer. Now, there is more good news on the Sony front: the company has announced a new camera bundle deal that will save the consumer nearly $1000 on the camera, a flash, and vertical battery grip.

So, what of the deal?

For starters, the camera itself retails for $2800, which is about the going rate for a semi-pro full-frame dSLR. The camera is the first part of the bundle.

For serious shooters, accessories are a must, two of which that can come in the most handy are a flash unit and a vertical grip to make portrait orientation shooting much easier than would be possible with camera alone.

In the bundle, Sony includes a HVL-F60M flash unit, which retails for $550 when sold alone. The second part of the bundle is the vertical grip, which retails for $380 as a stand-alone item. In all, the camera, flash, and grip come to $3730.

Now the good news: Sony is offering a $930 rebate, the total cost of the flash and grip, when the two accessories are bought as a kit with the A99. End result: camera, grip, and flash can be had for $2800, which is essentially buying the camera and getting the flash and grip for free. What a deal!

The kit can be bought straight fro Sony or on Amazon.
