WE ALL NEED A FRESH BREATH OF AIR THESE DAYS!
During these hard times, we’re all asking how to (1) save money and (2) still enjoy the good things of life. And what fits the bill better than a great bottle of wine?
Culinary fans will tell you that aeration (or letting the wine ‘breathe) is one great way to make any bargain wine better. Usually this is done by opening the bottle and letting it sit for about 45 minutes or so. And, of course, one can also pour the wine into a glass decanter and then wait 45 minutes!
But who wants the mess or the delay after a hard day of work? Soiree, an innovative wine accessory company, has created an alternative product that received rave reviews at the Taste Washington! Event here in Seattle.
Named after an evening gathering in France that's sure to include wine, this delightful glass insert fits securely into any wine bottle allowing you to pour directly, without dripping, while aerating the wine all at the same time.
Here’s how it works:
The wine enters the soiree globe, swirls around the chamber and is gently agitated by the concave impressions in the glass. This process replaces the traditional 45 or more minute wait required by traditional aeration yet still infuses the wine with the flavor enhancing oxygen that it needs to “breathe and flower”.
Jim Liss has been introducing this outstanding product to chefs in the great northwest and the reviews have been four stars. While nationally available from Soiree's internet site, regional retail outlets in the Seattle area include:
Chatter Creek Winery
Kirkland WA
Sixth Avenue Wine Cellars
Seattle WA
Seattle Cellars, LLC
Seattle, WA
The Wine Alley
Renton, WA
West Seattle Cellars

There’s a saying that the quality of life can be defined by whether one’s glass is viewed as half full or half empty. With a Soiree in hand, you can fill your glass to the brim with the best and relax.
Enjoy!
