Fall is a great time to visit our local attractions here in South Florida when the weather cools off (yes, it’s finally dipping into the 80′s, ha ha), and Flamingo Gardens has some great events lined up for the next couple of weekends!
This Saturday they’re offering 50% off admission at the Harvest Fest & Great Scarecrow Competition
This event takes place:

October 28, 2012 Story Time with the Good Witch – Come in costume on October 28th for Half-price admission!
11:30am – 3:00pm
Kids will love Story Time at Flamingo Gardens with friendly witches and their creepy pets. It begins with a costume parade at 11:30 am through the haunted woods to find the witches’ cottage. Story Time starts at noon followed by a costume contest, crafts and other tricks and treats. Visitors can also explore the Great Scarecrows throughout the Boo-tanical gardens and take a hayride between 1 pm-3pm. Sure to be fun for all but best for younger children.
I’ve gone to this event the last two years and it’s always a lot of fun to see the little ones dressed up in their costumes for the parade…the staff does a fantastic job with the storytime as well as decorating the grounds. They also offer a not-too-scary Haunted Room in the entrance too that’s fun to visit. And of course, it’s a laugh to see the adults “dressing up” to get their half-price admission.
