The Georgia River Network and Savannah Riverkeeper are partnering with the Georgia Kayak Fishing to host a Paddle 4 Tomorrow on September 7th on the Savannah River in Augusta, Georgia.
The paddle is only $15 if you bring your own kayak or canoe or $50, including lunch if you rent one. The event will travel downstream and stop at a sandbar for lunch and demonstrations from local water keepers, naturalists and outdoor educators and is sure to be a great family event that will make the end of summer most memorable.
What: Savannah River Hidden Gems Paddling Event
Explore the last remaining shoals on the Savannah River
When: Sept 7th ~ 8 am – 3 pm ~ Augusta, GA
Where: Savannah River in Augusta, GA (The stretch we are paddling is 3 miles and has beginner class 1 rapids.)
If you have a current Georgia fishing license, you can also take part in the kayak fishing workshop or watch outdoor presentations on the plant and animal life along the river, the history of the area, and ways that you can get involved in water monitoring and river cleanups.
