There are a lot of exciting festivities coming up in Savannah, celebrating Valentine's Day and Black History Month. In the midst of these events, there are also job-related workshops to attend. If you're still trying to find a job or you already have one, it’s never too late to start networking with local professionals.
- Most of the events in Savannah are on-going, such as the “Hostess City Toastmaster’s Club Meeting.” The mission is to meet other business people and also improve both your leadership and public speaking skills. This meeting is usually held every Tuesday, and it’s free to the public. The next Toastmaster’s meeting is on Tuesday, February 14th. - Another networking event you can attend is the “Pooler Professional Networking Connections, Networking Luncheon”– held in Pooler, GA. Here again, you will be meeting professional business people and also enjoy a nice lunch at Western Sizzlin Steak House (http://www.western-sizzlin.com/). The group will meet on Thursday, February 16th. (http://go.savannahnow.com/pooler-ga/events/show/234532884-pooler-professional-network-connections-networking-luncheon)
- If you’re willing to drive long distance, there’s a “Job Search Workshop” held in Summerville, SC (to get directions, click this link: http://g.co/maps/2hgwz). This workshop is open to the public, especially residents of Savannah and surrounding counties. There will be volunteers to critique your resume and give helpful advice on how to succeed in job hunting. The workshop will be held on Saturday, February 18th.
