It is time for Savannah Guthrie to start her maternity leave. She had to let everyone know that Monday will be her last day before leaving to have a baby. On Friday, New York Daily News shared what she had to say about leaving the show for a bit to focus on her baby.
She announced what was going on Friday. Carson Daly first off said that he knew she had an announcement to make. Savannah said, "It's not my water broke. Monday is going to be my last day, I am going to go on maternity leave after Monday. Universal sign that it's time to go: when none of your shoes fit because your cankles are so large."
They actually announced that a baby was on the way right after they got married. Savannah spoke out and said, "We set the wedding date, I bought my dress, and then I found out. So I did a little praying ... I feel great, and actually I'm so happy to tell the world because I can't suck in this gut anymore." She then went on to say, "We are so excited, overjoyed and feel so blessed."
Mike Feldman and Savannah Guthrie are excited and ready for their baby to get here. It sounds like things are going really well for her so far. They won't be replacing her on "Today" because she has big plans to come back again after her maternity leave is over. It is unknown how long she will be taking off, but most people take at least six weeks and it could end up being longer.
News will come out soon about Savannah Guthrie's new baby once it gets here. Hopefully everything goes great for the new mom. Fans will be waiting on he return.
