It's that time once again, Savannahians: Craft Beer Week is upon us! August 24th - 31st will be the optimal time to get your craft brew on, so get out there and experience all that Savannah Craft Beer Week has to offer!

This year we even have a brand new, recently opened brewery to add to the celebrations. Veteran owned and operated Service Brewing has been running strong since its debut in June, and craft beer enthusiasts in the low country are looking forward to their Beer Week offerings.

Highlights of this week include the notorious Night of the Beer Geek at The Distillery which features one-off and eclectic beer selections provided to them by their distributors. In its 5th year, Night of the Beer Geek has become an evening many Savannah beer lovers anticipate over any other Beer Week event.

The Distillery will also be kicking off Craft Beer Week in Savannah with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6pm on August 24th, but Crystal Beer Parlor has also elected to kick off the week with a spotlight on Asheville's Highland Brewing.

In fact, many dates during Beer Week here in Savannah give beer lovers their choice of several events, so it might be wise to make your plans in advance. Among the five events on August 25th, we'll have the chance to meet Smith Matthews, Savannah's own Southbound brewmaster, at Ampersand.

Of course, all of these events culminate in the Savannah Craft Brew Fest at the end of the week, which features 150+ beers from world class breweries, live entertainment, and more!

For a full list of 2014 Savannah Craft Beer Week events, you can visit savcraftbeer.com, the brainchild of the brilliant guys over at Brew/Drink/Run, and of course you can always check your favorite craft beer watering holes for their lists of celebrations! Hope to see you out there next week, Savannah!
