‘Savage Family Diggers' finds 'Mansion Money' on Spike

On tonight's episode of "Savage Family Diggers" former pro-wrestler Ric Savage and his family; wife Rita, and sons G and Nick dig for hidden treasures with their family business American Savage. When two of Ric's associates left the business, he turned it to a family team.

They were in Newport, R.I., where they were looking for more things than Civil War items. He went to an antique shop where the owner did not want any part of the artifacts that Rick wanted to sell. As he was leaving, a woman stopped him. She lives in one of the mansions that Newport is famous for. The house was called the Carey Mansion, an awesome sight to behold. The home was 40,000 square feet; the woman is an architect and wants to restore the ten-acre property.

They split the property into two sections; Rita and Ric took one part, and the boys took the other part. Soon a metal detector went off, and G found a metal ornamental scroll. As Rita searched, she found out that the mansion was not the original mansion that sat on the site. The original was built in the 1800s; this one was moved from Washington, D.C.

Because of the info, Rita found, they moved their operation to one spot, and Rita found a solid gold locket with initials, M.C. The boys found more wrought-iron fencing and decided to keep looking for more of this old fence. Rick found more wrought iron and then found a huge statue of a naked lady that had to be lifted out with a winch and pulley. Now Ric has to find an art expert to evaluate the lady who turned out to be the goddess Aphrodite worth $4,500 and from around 1850. The guy who did not want anything to do with Ric's Civil War artifacts was surely happy to get the statue, but Ric told him that he must take the Civil War items with the statue. The price was $5,000 and although a bit reluctant, he truly wanted the statue from the gilded age of Newport, and made the deal.

When Ric gave the woman her cut of the find, he asked her if she had any relatives with the initials M.C.? She said her grandmother's were those. When he presented her with the locket, she told him that her mother was given the locket by her grandmother, but lost it before she was born. Now she has a priceless family heirloom in addition to her $1,000 from Ric.

They made a profit of $4,000 and a big "Boom Baaaaaaaaby" yell for the "Savage Family Diggers."
