According to Joe Madden, one of the event planners, "This is a great way for rock fans to see these great local bands and help a charity. , Ian's Chain. This benefits people that are suffering from depression and are suicidal. It came about from my friend Alan Savill, who is a radio DJ in England. His son, Ian killed himself and Alan was devastated. However, he turned a negative into a positive and founded this organization. The money will go to help people with depression pay for getaways from everyday life", Madden said.
Madden, and local tattoo artist Staci Black are friends with Savill . The concocted the idea and made it a reality. "Every band volunteered time and no one is getting paid a dime,it's all for charity. I did not have to ask one band, they asked me", Madden said. Both Madden and Black spent countless hours and money putting this together.
The show will run from 7:00 p.m.until about 11:30 p.m. "We want to have an auction and give fans time to meet Nicko. Philly is such a strong city for Maiden and Nicko is looking forward to signing fans Maiden stuff" Madden further said.
There will be t shirts and bracelets for sale. All of the money raised goes to Ian 's Chain. However, Alan Savill is not going to take all that money back to England with him. He is planning on making a donation to local suicide prevention groups,to keep some of that money here , locally.
