The Kitchen Boss is a new show on TLC that features Buddy Valastro, The Cake Boss! The other day, Buddy made a sausage and pepper sandwich that looked so good, I had to make it for myself!
Here is a recipe that has been slightly adaped from the original:
Sausage Pepper and Onion Sandwich
- 2 medium onions, peeled and sliced
- 2 green pappers, seeded and sliced
- 1 package Italian sausage, mild
- 1 tbsp minces garlic
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Salt
- Olive oil
Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
Cook sausages in boiling water for 10 minutes.
When done, drain on a paper towel lined plate and set aside.
Heat a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Drizzle in 2 tbsp of olive oil.
When hot add in peppers, onions and a sprinkling of salt.
Sitrring occasionally, cook over medium-low heat for 7 minutes.
Add garlic, oregano and another sprinkling of salt.
Push veggies to one side of the pan and drizzle more olive oil in the empty part.
Add sausages to brown.
Brown sausage while continuing to cook the peppers and onion.
Cook until sausages are brown on all sides and veggies are soft.
Split an Italian roll down the center and fill it with sausage, peppers and onions.
