As usual, this coming week, April 28 – May 4 in Orlando local music has some great choices for music fans to get out and help grow the Orlando music community. It looks like the Saturdays in May are stacking up as full of shows as they were in April.

On Monday, Orlando based band Buster Keaton is having a fundraiser and jam session at The Peacock Room. The band is collecting donations to help with their upcoming road trip.

Friday and Saturday the Offering Of Metal Festival 2014 comes to Bombshell’s. Tickets are $5 for each show and the doors open at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Orlando band Ideal ZerO is releasing their official lyric video for their song “Let It Out.” The song is from their recently released EP “In Perfect Darkness.”

Also on Saturday is the Strange Gibberish Records’ S/G Fest VI at The Peacock Room. This event features live performances from Amable, DeepCrates, Chris Crack, RossyFlair, RecordMonster, DEF EYE, Marsh Sound, Turtle Handz, Lukey Cage and Omega Jackson for this 21+ show.

Monday, April 28

The Peacock Room - 1321 North Mills Ave. - Buster Keaton fundraiser and jam session. There is no set entry cost, but the band is collecting monetary donations to help with their upcoming road trip. The party starts at 9 p.m.

The Social - 54 North Orange Ave. - Live music from Dance Gavin Dance for this 12+ show. Tickets are $15 and the doors open at 7 p.m.

BB Kings Blues Club - 9101 International Dr. - Live music from Blue Stone Circle at 8 p.m.

West End Trading Company - 202 S. Sanford Ave. (Sanford) - RPR presents open mic hosted by Thrillan Dylan with Rhenn Again at 8 p.m. This FREE event is 18+.

Tuesday, April 29

The Red Lion Pub - 3784 Howell Branch Road - A special “One Day Without Shoes” Twisted Tuesday with Jahnopa for this 18+ show. This FREE event includes live music and other entertainment as well as a home-cooked meal, with a $2 donation to the Red Lion Community Emergency Fund. The live music starts at 7:30 p.m.

Will’s Pub - 1042 N. Mills Ave. - Live music from The London Souls, Milka and Jim O’Rourke for this 18+ show. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 day of show. The doors open at 9 p.m.

The Social - 54 North Orange Ave. - Live music from Chuck Ragan and the Camaraderie, Jonny Two Bags and Bartender Brian for this show. Tickets are $17 in advance or $20 day of show. The doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Smiling Bison - 745 Bennett Road - Live music from the John Krasula Jazz Trio at 7 p.m. for this FREE all ages show.

Jazz Tastings - 164 Lake Ave. (Maitland) - Live music from pianist Sergei Kossenko at 7 p.m.

Keg ‘n Cork - 1566 West Fairbanks Ave. (Winter Park) - Open mic night every Tuesday from 8 p.m. The list comes out at 7:30 p.m.

West End Trading Company - 202 S. Sanford Ave. (Sanford) - Live music from Birthday Candles, The Young Psychedelics, Stereo-Type and the Andrew Williams Band for this show. The doors open at 8:30 and the show starts at 9 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge with a $3 surcharge for under 21 for this all ages show.

Jazz Tastings - 164 Lake Ave. (Maitland) - Live music from the John Valeri Quartet at 7 p.m.

Dexter’s Winter Park - 558 W. New England Ave. - Live acoustic music from Ronnie Lester at 6:30 p.m.

Smiling Bison - 745 Bennett Road - Jazz Garage, an evening of improvisational jazz music featuring special guests at 10 p.m. There is no cover charge for this 18+ event.

On line everywhere - WPRK 91.5 - WPRK’s Local Heroes radio show from 5-7 p.m. features local talent from actors, directors, photographers, entrepreneurs, and musicians with DJ Daniel Pacchioni and co-hosts Ilene Leiber and George Wallace playing music from local Orlando bands.

Smiling Bison - 745 Bennett Road - Singer/songwriter Beth McKee will host a new songwriter series here every first Thursday of the month. Each night of the series will include a set of music from Beth McKee and sets by different spotlight musicians of Beth’s choice. This week’s special guests are Sarah Purser Bojorquez, Emily Kopp, John Gallagher and Connor Zwetsch. Table reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling 407-898-8580. There is no cover charge for this event.
