The jackpot for Saturday, Feb. 15th's Powerball drawing is now up to $330 million after brisk sales on Wednesday with people hoping to have the winning numbers according to reports Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014.
Wednesday's Powerball drawing produced approximately 95,000 winning tickets in just the state of New York. There were several people that matched all five numbers except the Powerball for a $1 million payout. These tickets were sold in the states of New York, Florida, California, Idaho, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia. Four people won $10,000 in Wednesday night's drawing.
The Powerball jackpot has not been won since Christmas night when Kevin Carlson got a 71.5 million late Christmas gift. Saturday's Powerball is estimated to be at least $189 million if the cash option is taken.
The largest Powerball jackpot was recorded was at $590 million and was won in May of last year in the state of Florida.
Powerball tickets are $2.00 each and can be purchased at any participating lottery distributor up to one hour before the drawing. Powerball is currently played in 43 states.
