Looking for an evening of mighty fine tunes to whet your musical appetite? Then get your ass in gear and make way to Smiths Olde Bar this Saturday night. A cavalcade of local bands will be taking the stage as the 1st Party at the Moontower takes place.
Leading the barrage of tunes is Moontower, a band that has built there sound around influential bands like Widespread Panic, Allman Brothers and Dave Matthews Band. Jamming tunes loaded with a plethora of musical tid bits, they are just as comfortable bringing the hammer down on some serious blues infused rock as they are noodling through a laid back folksy tune. On stage they make it look effortless drawing the crowd into their musical world mesmerizing them with sweet melodies and smooth rhythms, much like a snake charmer. Saturday night the tunes will be reverberating off the walls and ceiling as they deliver the tunes folks came to hear. A set list loaded with tracks from their debut album, a choice cover or two and maybe some new surprises should make for one hell of a night of music.
The Deadfields will be sharing the stage bringing their own brand of bluegrass flavored southern rock to the festivities. They join the Party at the Moontower on the heels of a new record, Often Wrong, Never In Doubt which you should go listen to. They live for jamming in front of an audience unleashing high energy performances wherever and whenever they play. With two records chock full of good tunes their set list should be a good one.
Also a part of the evening’s festivities will be local artists The Daniels Brothers Band (DBB) and Brian Wiltsey. With DBB things are going to get loud and rowdy as these guys have a good time with some killer country rock and Wiltsey’s songwriting skills will be on display as he reels through some tasty tunes. Get there early and support local musicians.
This should be a good Saturday night of music. If you are fans of any of these bands then you know what I am talking about. If you haven’t heard of them, then what are you waiting for? Check out their tunes then come join the Party at the Moontower, it is going to be a blast.
