'SNL' spoofed Oscars host, Ellen DeGeneres, just one day before the 2014 Academy Awards.

On March 1, “Saturday Night Live” opened its newest episode by spoofing Ellen DeGeneres on the eve of the 2014 Oscars. The multiple Emmy Award winner is all set to host this year’s Academy Awards, so Kate McKinnon’s impression of DeGeneres was not only timely, but it was also dead on and hilarious.

According to the Huffington Post, McKinnon “may have the most famous Ellen DeGeneres impression in the world.” Not only do millions of “SNL” fans agree, but so does Ellen. Back in April, McKinnon appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show" (click here to watch video) to talk to Ellen about her impersonations. The two hit it off beautifully. Then, last month, Ellen and Kate met again to chat about McKinnon’s spot-on impression of Justin Bieber. Head to to see the “SNL” comic and the woman she’s famous for impersonating talk about the troubled pop star.

On Saturday night, McKinnon spoofed Ellen again and took on the 2014 Oscars, which DeGeneres is hosting for the second time. Kate (as Ellen) joked that she loves the film “12 Years a Slave” and stated…

That’s how many years I’ve been forced to dance on this show every day for the last 12 years!

The opening “SNL” skit also featured Sophia Grace and Rosie, a prank involving Best Actor nominee, Barkhad Abdi, from “Captain Phillips,” and an Oscar fashion makeover with Johnny Weir, the Olympic skater that provided commentary with Tara Lipinski for NBC during the Winter Olympics.

To see the real Ellen DeGeneres in action during the 2014 Oscars, be sure to tune in to ABC tonight. Academy CEO, Dawn Hudson said about Ellen to the press, “She’s a big fan of the Oscars; we’re a huge fan of hers. It’s a perfect match.” “It is an honor to welcome back Ellen DeGeneres as the host of the biggest entertainment celebration of the year,” added Paul Lee, president, ABC Entertainment Group. “She is the consummate entertainer, equally beloved by her peers in the industry, movie fans and television viewers. We very much look forward to having her back on ABC for Oscar Sunday.”

The 86th Annual Academy Awards airs at 8:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 2 on ABC.

“SNL” airs every Saturday night at 11:35 p.m. EST on NBC.
