Let's be honest with ourselves, summer is not a three month long event in San Francisco. August is our summer, we need to get outside when the sun is shining and live it up while we can. This weekend is promising to be a beaut, so go fly a kite in the Presidio.
Saturday is the 35th Annual Family Day Kite Festival, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Presidio Main Post. Organizers will be handing out free kites to children. The Walt Disney Family Museum will host a 'Make-a-Kite Pavilion allowing you to personalize your new goodie before sending it up in the air. Flying contests will be held throughout the day and high flying professional flyers will be in the grass to show off some fancy moves. Food trucks will also be on hand if you forget your picnic lunch at home.
