“Because I'll die eventually,
I want to drag down those
who tarnish Satanism with me”
—satanist, alleged, murderer
Someone better tell the Bangkok Post, the International Business Times, the Huffington Post, the Daily Mail, et al. that there is no such thing as satanic crime and cry out “satanic panic!” because they sure are reporting on a satanic crime. Oh, but that’s okay since, after all, it was just a lone nut (forehead wipe along with a whooshing sound).
Samong Traisattha (aka Avaejee), singer and bassist for the black/death metal band Surrender of Divinity, was allegedly stabbed to death by Prakarn “Sant” Harnphanbusakorn, a “self-styled Satanist” / “self-proclaimed Satanist” who admitted to the murder on Facebook, posting as Maleficent Meditation, along with a photo of the corpse—as of Jan 11 the photo had received 450 “Likes.” The Thailand based band put on an annual concert called “God Beheading Live Ritual.”
Prakarn Harnphanbusakorn went to Samong Traisattha’s house in order to do some t-shirts screen printing and to “have a drink.” An hour after his arrival, Traisattha’s wife “went to check on her husband. She found him lying on the floor in a pool of blood and Mr Prakarn had gone.” He had been stabbed 30 times with a foot long knife.
The somewhat roughly translated Facebook confession reads in part, “Why I killed them, it doesn’t matter very much. I intend to commit suicide at age 25, charging the main points, I would be dead at all, they get to drag the damn concept of a cult of Satan to eight with two bodies, neither sleep really dead, there are still elements of Satan message” next the word “notopklap” is left untranslated which seems to be two words “not” and “opklap” which means not pliable or, firm. The message goes on to stated that these firm satanic dogmas, as it were, are those, “that agreed with (I am a daily meditation requires 30-60 minutes of breath and fastened themselves in front of the mirror. 30-60 minutes).” Not sure what “to eight with two bodies” means but he does stated that “at first I intended to make death more 20-30 dead.”
A difficult sentence reads, “I can’t ignore the women and children to death, but at least I know it will be what element to Satan, not the toys they are going to play well in front of the Messenger page without limit, then Hail a forum without having real faith.” This seems to mean that he was not out to murder Samong Traisattha’s wife, Jaruvan Surapol, not their child. He implies that his issue was those who toy with satan and/or satanism whilst having no actual “faith.”
This is clear as the message continues, “If you guys don’t believe in Satan…You guys just get yourself into something else. Not pretentious and called themselves that there is a Satanic concept and the swearing, I don’t believe that Satan element in driving maeng. I believe this is the most ordinary stuff” This may refer to Maeng Da Kratom which is “Loosely translated from the Thai language as the colorful, colloquial English moniker ‘Pimp’s Kratom.’” Maeng Da is a form of a kratom which is a tree which is used, both, as a stimulant and sedative. Whether this is that to which the message refers is unknown.
He goes on, “Swearing is not Satan enough elements to scold a person’s religion” which seems to mean that claiming to be a Satanist, such as via song lyrics, is not enough to prove devotion. The following may contain common parlance which simply does not translate directly, “this guy really is a Satanist nun” and “in the eyes of the Muslim faith, Christianity, Buddhist, I like the way how raengkla I am to them, rather than their regards the damn fool yourself, get yourself a Satanist but have the cheek to not know what amount of rain.”
He states that while he “saw in the news that I am a music fan” of Surrender of Divinity, “I am not a music fan.” He also states that while the police concluded that the murder was a result of a drunken brawl gone bad, “I intend to go kill it already. Preparation knives hidden inside a military shirt before” so that it was premeditated. The details of the actual stabbing are amongst the worse translated with phrases such as, “it runs damn news post some errors that I stab wounds to three, but really, I’m more than 30 times,” “gouge knife out and stabbed in the neck at the front, there are no rua finishing without all the Gore wound and see it struggling to crawl, grasping the dog now lives, request hand lifting it say ‘don’t’ sound it out, but the wind, along with krachut blood comes out” and “I just know that the murder with a knife, it has beautiful words.” This part of the message concludes, “I returned to my hotel where meditation is a rental” which is a bad translation of “I went back to a rented hotel room to meditate” and also states, “and of course, I do not regret the things themselves do…I had a passion cold blood.”
The message ends with “Life after death of the hair that I have nothing to say but then I’d have to live in the land of demons and the element would take after death meditation. No matter how many hundred years or a thousand ten on my path…All persons…shall adhere to conduct his or her own path regardless of spoofing yourself. Do what you think needs to be done, and then we meet again if we have the same dimension after dimension Hail Satan!!!”
In other words, Aleister Crowley’s motto, “Do what thou wilt.”
The Facebook post is difficult and there are a variety of quotes which do not all seem to match. For example, one report has it stating, “I have intended to end my life since I was 25. Because I'll die eventually, I want to drag down with me those who tarnish Satanism. I got a message from Satan, who agreed with me. I could contact Satan...
"In my view, I have more respect for devoted Buddhists, Christians and Muslims than those who call themselves Satanists without knowing anything about it.
"I have intended to end my life since I was 25. Because I'll die eventually, I want to drag down with me those who tarnish Satanism. I got a message from Satan, who agreed with me. I could contact Satan as I practice meditation every day” and “In my view, I have more respect for devoted Buddhists, Christians and Muslims than those who call themselves Satanists without knowing anything about it.”
Facebook user Gung Satanicgoatrider claims to have been a close friend of Samong “Avaejee” Traisattha and wrote that Samong and Prakarn were arguing about satanism just before the murder; although how he knows this is unstated.
One of the two remaining members of the band stated that “He said the suspect is thought to be part of a group of four or five people who share the same beliefs.”
