The Garden of Eden was creation perfected in the most simple of terms. Our main human representatives Adam and Eve had free reign and authority in the form of free will to do anything they pleased or was pleasing to God.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_and_Eve
However, there was only one thing God warned them not to do and God plainly told Adam what would happen if God’s instruction was violated.
Once confronted Adam blamed God for putting “that woman” in the garden with him which basically said nothing bad would have happened if Adam was alone. Eve blamed the serpent which beguiled her, and thus was born the microcosm of human frailty, our propensity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Lucifer was the resident evil and has been using the same weapon to undermine mankind and God’s authority ever since the Garden of Eden. Nothing has changed in over six thousand years. The most deadly of weapons in Satan’s arsenal is deception.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiritual_warfare
We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places is a Biblical description of spiritual warfare being waged by a third of angels that were kicked out of heaven during the rebellion that took place in heaven. If Lucifer deceived a multitude of angels, what chance can a single human have?
By using deception in the form of what is called the “dirty D’s”, divorce, drugs, doubt, disease, death, and destruction, are just a few of Lucifer’s chief evils that maximize the spirit of deception. In Lucifer’s rank and file the demonic hordes have the goal of devastating God’s creation with corruption.
Deception works so well that it has been unnecessary for God’s perennial enemies to change the approach. Call it our natural curiosity, tendency to trust, or just plain stupidity, but it is still a mystery why we humans are so gullible to be deceived so easily. Do we have a gene that allows such nonsense?

Satan deceived Eve with the idea that she was missing out on something and that Eve could be “like gods”, and thus is the motive why we humans do get into so much trouble willingly. We really do want to be like gods in a vain attempt to equal our Creator.
One of the most insidious sins warned about in the Bible is the sin of emulation, the desire or effort to equal or exceed others. It is cloaked in deception and works well in the advertising industry which preys on the belief that one is missing out on something or needs it to keep up with the Jones’. It is right out of Lucifer’s standard playbook with Eve.
Our need to be spiritually connected to something allows Satan’s devices to work so well if one is not spiritually cognizant to understand the pitfalls. The prince of darkness has had millenniums to perfect his trade and it is highly unlikely anyone could withstand a direct attack from Satan himself, not under their own power anyway.
In 1 John 4:4 it stipulates that “greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world”. God understands the futility of human effort against Lucifer and has given power and authority from a newly created spirit to do battle on our behalf. This is precisely why we do not wrestle against flesh and blood.
Fortunately Lucifer is a limited entity and cannot be everywhere at once. Satan uses his demonic hordes to undermine God’s authority and to manifest John 10:10 which declares, “the thief comes not but to steal, kill, and destroy.” The counterbalance to John 10:10 reveals, “I have come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly.
Lucifer always attempts to counterfeit what God has created. The devil’s chief weapon of deception works if there is active or passive participation as with Adam and Eve. Dressing up the lie in partial truth is a powerful and effective way to trap people into regrettable circumstances. Partial truth is the bait that tricks many an individual into doing something they normally would not do.
Proverbs 6: 16-19 outlines standards God hates, one being an abomination. The enemy will use the dirty D’s and much more unfair methods to deceive ignorant, gullible, or rebellious people into horrific situations. Using spiritual gifts as discernment from 1 Corinthians 12 will keep one out of the tragic traps Satan prepares for those unsuspecting or expecting a spiritual attack.

Trying to navigate away from these traps without God’s defensive spiritual weaponry will probably be futile.
