NWOBHM veteran act Satan will make first-ever appearances in Austin this autumn, which is saying a lot considering the band is over 30 years old. They'll take control of Beerland on Wednesday, October 22, and then The Loast Well on Thursday, October 23, so that's plenty of time to get your patch vest together while playing Court in the Act at full blast. The durable quintet made the scene with this album in 1983, in the wake of the same British metal explosion that brought us Motorhead, Iron Maiden, and (ugh) Def Leppard.
While Satan didn't become a household name like some of their peers, they were always well-regarded in the leather-n-spikes community and managed to make a notable impression with their memorable debut. It's worth noting that the band features the original lineup, so the show promises to be a living piece of metal history. They also sound great, in case you're wondering.
As if this wasn't a rare-enough occurrence already, classic San Antonio heavy metallurgists Militia will also be there to crack some skulls, along with promising Austin newcomers Eternal Champion who will get everyone banging their heads early on.
Considering that Austin continues to have scant decent venues to host metal shows, we're lucky to have anything come through at all, much less a double-dose of a venerable act like Satan. Don't let this one pass you by, it's going to rule!
