The Western CFL final wasn't as close as predicted. Rider Pride on the hometown field worked its magic. The Saskatchewan Roughriders beat the Calgary Stampeders 27-12, pulling ahead from a half-time 10-10 tie.
Earlier, the Montreal Alouettes beat the B.C. Lions 56-18.
Next Sunday, November 29, the Grey Cup game will be played in Calgary. Since half of Saskatchewan lives in Alberta now, there's bound to be lots of green in the stands. It won't be surprising if the Calgary fans support the Riders too. They are a national sentimental favourite.
This is the first time these two teams have met in the Grey Cup. (This is the 97th year of the Cup.)
