Sasheer Zamata has been hired as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live." On Jan. 6, Wet Paint reported that she will be joining the cast as the first black woman in seven years. This comedian looks like a great addition to the show and fans are excited to see her.

The show has got a lot of backlash from fans for not hiring enough diverse people lately. They are now adding Sasheer to the show and this should help people to give them a bit of a break for a while. She is from New York and is the first black woman since Maya Rudolph left the show.

Sasheer is actually joining the cast right away. She will be on the newest episode of "SNL" when it comes back on Jan. 18. She should fit right in with this cast and do a great job right away.
