Entry blanks are now circulating for the Sarasota-Manatee County USBC Bowling Association's annual women's championship tournament, to be conducted March 23-24 at AMF Gulf Gate Lanes.
The one-weekend event will carry an entry fee of $20 per woman per event -- in singles, doubles and five-player team competition -- plus optional $5 all-events fees, both scratch and handicap (90 percent of 220).
There will be two Saturday squads, at noon and 4 p.m., while there will be only one squad on Sunday, starting at 1 p.m.
Team event will be contested in one division, while there will be two average divisions in singles and doubles. Singles entrants with averages of 165 and up will be placed in Class A, while those at 164 and under will compete in Class B. In doubles, teams with combined averages of 326 and up will enter Class A, while those with averages of 325 and under will go into Class B.
Multiple participation will be permitted only in the team event, as long as no more than three individuals from one team are entered on a subsequent team.

* 700-PLUS TOURNAMENT: The event -- featuring handicap doubles and virtual singles, both scratch and handicap -- will take place on Sunday, Feb. 17, at AMF Bradenton.
The doubles competition, beginning at noon, will be composed of teams with one SMCBA member who has rolled a three-game scratch series of 700 or better in the past four years and a member who hasn't done so. Entry fee will be $40 per doubles team if paid in advance, or $50 for walk-ins.
Virtual singles, beginning at 3 p.m., will feature a scratch division for bowlers who have rolled a 700+ series in the past four years, plus a handicap division for those who haven't. Bowlers must compete in doubles to be eligible for singles, and the scratch division will feature a final-five stepladder finals.

* OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS: The association's Open championship event, open to both men and women members, will be held Feb. 23-24 and March 2-3 at AMF Bradenton, with Saturday squads at noon and 4 p.m. and a single 1 p.m. squad on Sundays.
