Sunday, Sarah Palin said that plans to build a community center and mosque near the September 11 terrorist attack site an "unnecessary provocation." A $100 million, 13-story community center and mosque has brought up emotional issues among Americans.
"Peace-seeking Muslims, pls understand, Ground Zero mosque is UNNECESSARY provocation; it stabs hearts," Palin said Sunday on Twitter. "Pls reject it in interest of healing."
Sarah Palin asked "peaceful New Yorkers" to "pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real."
The project has been described by its designer as an "Islamic community center" and that it “is not a mosque.” The center will “include a 500-seat performing arts center, a lecture hall, an exhibition space, a swimming pool, a gym, a culinary school, a restaurant and a prayer space for Muslims,” according to CNN.
In August, the New York's Landmarks Preservation Commission will vote on if an 1850s structure that is already on the site will be granted landmark status. If it is, it could halt construction of the new community center.

During the Tweeting session, Palin also made up the word "refudiate" and compared herself to Shakespeare. For more on that story and to see a video of Palin using the word, click here.
One week ago, Sarah Palin defended the Tea Party against NAACP claims that the organization tolerates racism; Palin took to her Facebook page to make her statement. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) held their annual convention in Kansas City and passed a resolution that asked the Tea Party to get rid of its racist elements. They claim that the Tea Party allows some of their protestors to carry racist signs and by not discouraging it or eliminating it, they are tolerating it. For more on this story, click here.

Too much is made over Sarah Palin. If she is really a serious contender, as some media are now reporting, then she needs to be called upon for real ideas. She is very big on critique - let's face it, who isn't? - but she is very short on ideas. ("Whatever it takes" is not a policy for securing our borders, eg) She seems to be able to back winning candidates for primaries, but her reasoning for choosing them is thin : "she's a mama grizzly" says pretty little, as does labeling them a conservative. When she has mentioned background on candidates, it's been incorrect or incomplete, such as her recent leap onto the Ayotte bandwagon in NH, when she said the woman took her fight for families to the supreme court and won. (The case, about notifying parents for a minor's abortion, was remanded by the Supreme Court back to lower courts on a technicality.)
Sarah Palin's inconsistent stands on candidates (some are conservative, some are the moderate choice in the race) is reflective of her overall political views. She calls for less government intrusion and a return to strict constitutional interpretation, and is highly critical of spending. Yet she has been highly critical of the Obama administration for not being involved enough in immigration, the oil spill clean up, and other matters that would require more spending and more government intrusion. She would have us spend much more on the military, the wars, and would have us more involed in both as well as with the Israeli embargo conflict. She instills fear over any encroachment on sacred second ammendment but with this lastest tweet displays a willingness to encroach on one's religious rights, also guaranteed by the US constitution.
She claims to champion ethics and open government, two areas she herself won't be held accountable for, and she takes pride in her lack of 'elitism', by which she basically means a lack of higher education and a lack of political experience. She defines a "quitter" as someone who perseveres in elected office when the job becomes harder due to real or imagined opposition, insisting it is more noble to let someone else take over the reins.
It will be interesting to see what she actually does as we move into serious election months. Will her primary candidates win their elections? Will these candidates indeed be the political backing she is obviously hoping for should she decide to run for the presidency? Will she settle into a consistent political philosophy? Will she come up with real ideas and some kind of vision that displays intelligence and knowledge of the state of the union and the world? I'm guessing no; if we haven't seen consistency and vision by now, she has none.
Palin will never be taken seriously until she Faces the Nation and Meets the Press. She is an American tragedy and a joke. She knows if she went on these shows it will all be over.
Enough about this crazy nit wit. Normal people dont care about her. Move on!
