Sarah Palin to host outdoor-sports TV show: Her diet and workout secrets

Sarah Palin will host a weekly outdoors-oriented TV show called "Amazing America With Sarah Palin" on the Sportsman Channel, the network announced.

The program, which debuts in April, will celebrate the "red, wild and blue" lifestyle. Palin, an avid hunter and runner, said she's thrilled to spotlight the outdoorsy lifestyle she grew up with in Alaska.

"The network showcases a lifestyle that I love and celebrate every day and it's great to be a part of their team," said Palin, 49.

The show is a good match for Sarah, whose husband Todd is a two-time winner of the Iditarod, a 1,150-mile sled-dog race.

Palin, a mother of five, is a longtime workout fanatic who runs regularly and follows a low-carb, high-protein, diet. For most of her adult life, Palin ran five to 10 miles almost every day, except during her pregnancies, when she switched to aerobic-exercise classes.

Sarah's diet features lots of game meat that she kills herself. "My family and I eat a healthy diet heavy in wild Alaskan seafood, moose, caribou and fresh fruit," she said in 2010.

This isn't the first time the former Alaska governor has starred on an outdoor-oriented reality show. In 2010, Palin starred on the TLC show, "Sarah Palin's Alaska," where she did cross-country skiing, kayaking, rode an ATV and dog-sledded in her home state. The show was canceled after one season.
