Sarah Palin's immigration policy

Since the election is over and U.S. voters rejected the tired Republican platform that devastated America’s economy and wrecked American’s reputation abroad, former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s views on immigration would seem moot. However, with her apparent popularity spiking alongside her “Going Rogue” book tour, Democrats and Republicans alike are giving her a second look.

Palin was generally perceived as grossly inexperienced and profoundly unqualified to hold higher office. As the now ex-governor of Alaska, a state with a lower population (686K) than Charlotte, North Carolina, Palin was a magnet for family squabbles and staff infighting that made her a minor national embarrassment for all but the most fervent Republicans who may only want to prove they aren’t just the party of disgruntled old white men from the South. But with the support of Fox News and right wing talk radio, Palin may have the platform she needs to prove she is not the female equivalent of Dan Quayle.

But we do admire her apparent tenacity and see absolutely nothing wrong with cashing in on her increasing popularity. It’s the “American Way” as we like to say. If she can maintain this level of media frenzy, Sarah Palin could be destined to either become Alaska’s next Senator or even a Presidential candidate. Therefore, it is in our reader’s best interest to find out her stance on key immigration issues.

Unfortunately, her book was little help since her ghost writer didn’t bother to create an index in his rush to publish. But a little searching revealed that she’s definitely not the fervent nativist of the likes of a Michelle Malkin.

In fact, Sarah Palin’s immigration views (what little are known) are refreshingly pragmatic. In response to the question: do you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, she responded, “I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.” This may put her at odds with the Party of No and further polish her image as a free thinker.

Whatever you think of Palin for quitting her job as governor or her irresponsible “Death Panel” warning on health care reform, it does not appear that we can add immigration to her list of gaffs. If anyone is aware of Palin’s latest position statements on comprehensive immigration reform and H-1B visas, please comment.

What an interesting collection of links; are any of those paid?

As for her comments, they were from before the election, when she was running with McCain and she was probably trying to match his position. Presumably, now that she's rid of him, she can be educated and won't do things like have a former foreign government official as an advisor: 24ahead.com/s/juan-hernandez

Mrs. Palin Represents True American Values.

To the Hateful People carrying signs and yelling "NO AMNESTY"' I hope your maker Judges you far more fairly than you are now Judging millions of good people, Both citizen, and un-documented's even children!

YOu People must really be proud.

America is a Land of nearly all Immigrants, and was Built on far Better Principles than your Hatred.

This the worst Recession in U.S. History started at the Exact same time as the D.H.S. Deportations!

The States that had the largest mass Exodus of their TAX BASE (As counted for nearly thirty years by the U.S. Census) are now in E-conomic Disaster!

Phoenix has approx: 30% less TAX BASE, and the same size Government? (Aint Gonna Work!)

The Government can either fire 30% across the Board or keep Bailing and Borrowing!

The aprox: 30% Excess of vacated dwellings has put Phoenix 30% overbuilt, completely Halting Construction/Growth, causing Az.to have the most loss of Const. jobs in the U.

The people of America have been blindsided to long and must become more involved. We all no by now we cannot trust our government anymore to do the right thing for all of us. To survive we must fight back or financially--SINK. Washington is truly a corrupt place, where taxpayers money is the bargaining chip. "If anyone is aware of Palin’s latest position statements on comprehensive immigration reform and H-1B visas, please comment. "

Everywhere her running mate John McCain went in the Midwest, he got pelted with hard questions about this issue - his base was absolutely furious about it, and was not placated by the happy horse-poo he tried to sling in response

So if she's not saying anything about the hottest issue of that campaign, what does that tell you? If she differed from McCain now that she is 'rogue' and on her own, the first thing she would do, is tell us where she differs from mccain, on things people HATED mccain for

If true it'd add credit to her in the conscience department. Not all spite, unlike her base.

McCain would have done Far Better had he STOOD FIRM with his convictions about Immigration Reform, instead of publicly flip- flopping for what he thought would be more votes!

And just think if we could only turn back time to 2007 and handle Immigration Reform RESPONSIBLY, we would not have Deported good hard working Human's that had been here up to thirty years, and were not only counted by the U.S. Census as our TAX BASE, but were and are a VITAL part of our E-conomy!

America dosn't understand what a monumental Blunder these Deportations were, this is not your typical Re-cession, and I fear it is FAR From being over!

All of the Bail-outs Stimulus, Cash for Clunkers, Ect. Have been done since the Deportaions Started in January 2008, and have only been TREATING the SYMTOMS!
We have Trashed our Real E-conomy These Programs have only De-vaued America and added to our prosperity's De-ficit!

I wonder how many of the Dead Bodies on Both sides of the Border were Deported?

    Numbersusa? the new KKK?

Though NumbersUSA tries to cloak itself in tolerance for immigrants, do not be fooled. Roy Beck, executive director of NumbersUSA was also the Washington editor for the hate group the Social Contract Press, a publishing company founded by JOHN TANTON.

Roy Beck has been described as a "tutor" for U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo on immigration issues. We have all heard Tom Tancredo saying the US should “STOP ALL IMMIGRATION” & now he is leading the white supremacist group KuKluxKlan's StormFront.

WEW! That was close - I'm a Conservative non-Republican - I don't like her - she's nothing but a quitter and she whines. Now that she is Sarah Amnesty Palin I know for certain she will not win in '12 - no matter what she runs for. Anyone who goes for amnesty will lose in '12.
    WEW!!

Another coward! Those who play in the middle like this well-named Sarah Amnesty should go live in Mexcio where they belong and stop wrecking this nation with their disservice.

  • David Nichols 2 years ago

    Dear Donna1 ?

This the worst Re-cesion in U.S. History started at the Exact Same Time as the Deportation of these hard working good Human's!
(Our Tax Base as counted for nearly thirty years by the U.S.Census Burea!)
We now have Massive E-cess Government that must be fired to match the new smaller TAX BASE!
    (Do YOU GET IT YET?)

    This has Crashed our E-conomy!

The States that lost the most hard working Hispanic People, both Citizen and un-documented's are now the States/Area's that are in E-conomic Shambles with absolutely NO HOPE IN SIGHT!
    (YOU CAN'T BAIL OUT STUPIDITY!)

If only we could turn back time to January 2008 and deal with Immigration Reform RESPONSIBLY we might still have a Country!

The D.H.S./I.C.E. have Iced America! E-njoy!

    To: Freedom and Prosperity.
